When it comes to bird care and avian health few people know more than our Veterinary Director Peter Scott FRCVS. Peter is a recognised specialist in Zoo & Wildlife Medicine (which includes birds) and obtained his Fellowship in Psittacine (parrot) Medicine & Surgery. This makes us unique in the level of knowledge and support we have at the core of the company.

His practice has worked with many of the UK's top avian care experts and breeders plus, of course, individual pet birds.

In addition to this we have kept birds ourselves for over 20 years.

Because a lot of pet birds are prey-type animals they often invest a lot of their energy into "looking good" as a strategy to make them less likely to be selected by predators. However the implication for this in terms of avian care is that birds often do not actually look ill even if they are ill. And this can mean that when a bird does actually look ill he/she may be too far gone.
